Research on Folklore
So far in my research, I have found so many interesting stories about how things came to be the ay they are. Some have been relatively the same story but told in a different way, but I have found quite a lot of stories all pertaining to something very different from the next story. One of my favorite websites has multiple links to tribes all across the US and has lists of the stories they tell. I'm not sure which is my favorite story yet because I haven't read most of them, but I am beginning to narrow it down. I've noticed one of the most popular tales seems to be about the Raven and all its cunningness.

Folklore and Anthropology
For my final paper I am studying about Native American folklore and stories. So far I have found all kinds of really interesting stories online. My favorite source so far has multiple links to different tribes around the US that provides stories of nature and the ways of life. Ever since I can remember I have always been interested in native American studies and especially their stories and folklore. So finally having a reason to look deep into the topic is quite exciting for me.

Artistic Response
Fr my Artistic Responce I want to do a powerpoint presentation comparing how I used to view Native-American art and what it means to me now. From reading "The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian", I learned that there is more behind art pieces than a face as part of a scenery or a salmon swimming in a river. In my powerpoint I will have pictures of art pieces for the before and after and possibly will ask if people can guess what possible meanings of the art are. After a few responses (hopefully), I will explain the stories behind the art.
I'm up for having someone to work with in this presentation, so if anyone is interested, let me know. I'm open to any ideas on how to snazz this up.

The Key to Unity and Peace
I think that in order for every race and ethnicity to live together in harmony is for everyone to understand what each culture or each people went through in their history. Maybe we don't have to all know every detail about eachothers' histories, but to know the troubles and struggles each person has gone through up until now would introduce understanding and empathy for everyone.

Final Thoughts on the Book
Overall I really enjoyed reading the book "The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian". I was hooked all the way through and the book was completely unpredictable. I was a little surprised about how it ended with so much sorrow leadin to the finally, but when I read how he bacame friends with Rowdy again, it created a happy ending. I highly recommend the book for people who haven't already read it for Melissa's English 102 class.
